Hippotherapy: a physical, occupational, or speech and language therapy treatment strategy that utilizes equine movement.
According to the North American Riding For The Handicapped (NARHA), there are over 40,000 participants in NARHA accredited facilities. There are over 7,000 additional persons with needs on over 300 waiting lists. It is our goal to help as many persons with special needs as possible in San Joaquin and neighboring counties. We will utilize the unique motion, temperment, and will to please of our equine friends to help enrich the lives of paticipants, both emotionally and physically.
Hippotherapy has been endorsed as a treatment tool by the American Occupational Therapy Association and the American Physical Therapy Association. (endorsements on the AHA website)
